Hi, I'm Trixie and it's my first time to your website. You have accumulated a wealth of information here and I'm hoping you will be able to shed some light on a problem that has developed in my broiler flock of 12 day old birds. They are Freedom Rangers which I've raised very successfully numerous times in the past. They arrived from hatchery very active and robust. Everything seemed great for first 11 days, all birds active and growing quickly.

Yesterday, we discovered 7 birds that are spraddled (splayed legs). All are good size with good feather development. No other obvious signs of illness. They have been on grass in a well protected pen (think chicken tractor with stretch wrap around it) under heat lamps. No signs of spraddle prior to this.

We are trying to sort out the cause. They are on a 22 percent protein commercial broiler feed which we have used successfully in the past.

The lead I've been following is vit B deficiency but I wonder if you have any suggestions to offer.

I appreciate your feedback.
Sincerely,
Trixie
