see the thread on that in this forum entitled INJURIES
(which also includes BUMBLEFOOT info >see in particular the article on ABSCESS and the link to WOUND MANAGEMENT on how to treat incl photos on bandaging etc.).... in addition to that there is info on STAPH infections (i.e. "bumblefoot") in the DISEASE section and a couple CASE HISTORIES in the same section)> Please review the information on GOUT below as the two are often difficult to distinguish from each other!
To determine if swelling may be due to staph (bumblefoot) or GOUT please also review the info on GOUT in the link below (not only is it difficult to differentiate between the two, it is also possible to have both concurrently):
(see relevant section)
Avian Clinical Pharmacology
n ZOYSEN 2 g
n DMSO q.s. up to 10 ml
n Keep refrigerated and discard after 7 days ..."

LAMENESS not due to injury, "bumblefoot" or gout could be due to disease, viral infection, toxicity, Marek and quite often to nutritional disorders/deficiencies >>> info on that is found in the Disease (see Leg Problems) , Toxicity and Nutrition categories.
